GROUP CLASSES

YOGA: Modified postures, slow intentional movement, breath work, and internal focus combine to help you find the perfect balance of gentle stretching and strengthening. Stabilize your musculoskeletal system and relieve tight areas that may be causing pain and discomfort. (more information on Viniyoga below) 

CORE YOGA: Build a strong foundation by developing the basic functions of your core; stability, lateral movement, twisting and forward bending. Learn to activate your musculature appropriately, allowing you to participate in daily activities or sport powerfully and pain free. Increase your muscle/joint endurance, mobility, and flexibility as well as improving balance. Utilization of the breath, and props such as foam rollers, straps and blocks will enhance the effects of the movement. 

GENTLE YOGA: Revitalize yourself with this hour long session focused on the basics. Slow down to obtain the full benefits of simple and restorative postures. Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner you will reap the rewards of this class. 

All Yoga classes are rooted in the Viniyoga tradition which strives to serve the needs, interests, and capacity of each student. Movements are coordinated with the breath to enhance their effectiveness, and postures are sequenced to maximize a particular effect such as back strengthening or shoulder mobility. We move in and out of postures repeatedly before holding to ensure your body is prepared, thereby reducing the risk of injury or strain. The emphasis of each posture is on its intent and benefit for your body, not on a predetermined form. Viniyoga is user-friendly and customizes to your need. 

PILATES PLUS: Develop core and postural muscle strength and endurance using Bender Ball Methods, light weights, resistance bands, and other apparatus. Increase muscle and joint mobility; improve blood flow, coordination, and balance. Learn effective muscle activation and release techniques using myofascial balls, foam roller, and tennis balls. Monday class emphasizes strength. 


TAICHI: The traditional Chinese system of mind and body training. It is widely practiced around the world by people of all ages for betterment of health and well-being. Come discover the art and healing power of Taichi with Min Fan.
